So, I’m a part of a large, luscious photography community known as Shoot & Share. It’s a contemporary photography business model which inherently provides digital files to their clients as opposed to relying on in-person, print and product sales, the way traditional photography business models operate.
The founders of the Shoot & Share group hold a photo contest every year. It’s totally free. It’s completed by voting online over about 4 weeks and there are multiple rounds and cuts within that time. Most participants are other photographers but anyone can get in the game!
I’ve never contributed before this year but I happened to catch the deadline in February, entered the maximum 50 images in the 25 available categories and I, honestly, surprised myself!
Two of my images made it into the top 500 in their respective categories!!
