As an in-home lifestyle photographer, my greatest joy is finding beauty in the small, fleeting moments of family life. This session was a heartwarming blend of cozy indoor vibes and sunlit outdoor adventures, reminding me why I adore this work. It’s been a few years since I spent time with the Kents (I did both of the girls’ newborn sessions) but everyone stayed relaxed and enjoyed the session.
From the giggles of two little girls as they clutched their favorite stuffed animals on their neatly made beds to their parents’ laughter during a family board game in the living room—it all felt so wonderfully real. These aren’t staged snapshots but memories that echo the rhythm of their days together.
I loved following the family outside, where the girls shared hugs with their beloved chickens under the bright sky. Feeding the ducks together added to the charm, a reflection of their grounded, joyful lifestyle. And that front porch? It was a scene of love and togetherness, perfectly framed by a classic red door adorned with holiday wreaths.
These photographs are more than portraits; they’re a story—a narrative of connection, laughter, and the warmth of home. I always say I’m shooting for the family they will be in ten years. My hope is that when they flip through these images a decade from now, they’ll feel the same joy that was so abundant on this day and be grateful they invested in this custom, artistic documentation.
